Which case fits the OLED iPad mini?
Apple’s TechWoven Smart Folio (navy blue and taupe) uses a two-panel magnetic design and is sold for iPad mini (A20 Pro) at $79 (newsroom). Do not assume an A17 Pro / mini 7 folio fits.

Paper-feel or clear screen protector?
The display is now OLED at 8.5 inches with optional nano-texture on higher storage configs (newsroom).
- Paper-feel (e.g. Paperlike 3 for new mini): more Pencil friction for sketching; expect some haze and tip wear — see paper-feel guide. Paperlike says the previous mini film will not fit.
- Clear tempered glass: keeps OLED punch for reading and video; less tooth for drawing.
- Nano-texture owners: covering it with matte film often defeats the point of paying for nano-texture — we would leave it bare or use only a light clear film if you must.

Charger, cable and IP67 reality check
Apple highlights fast-charge support and USB-C. A modern USB-C PD adapter and cable from a recent iPhone/iPad usually works; we are not inventing a required wattage beyond Apple’s published support docs — check Apple’s iPad mini charge guidance for your region if you need a number.
IP67 (up to 1 m for 30 minutes in lab tests per Apple’s footnote) helps with splashes and dust; it is not a substitute for a case, and liquid damage is still outside typical warranty. Dry the port before charging.

Will my iPad mini 6 or 7 case fit?
Plan on no. Apple and accessory makers describe a new size (larger 8.5-inch display in a similar footprint with thinner bezels) and a landscape-edge front camera. Apple’s new Smart Folio is specified for iPad mini (A20 Pro). Buy cases and protectors labelled for the 2026 / A20 Pro mini.
Which Apple Pencil works?
Apple lists Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB-C). Pencil Pro adds squeeze, barrel roll, haptics and Find My. The older Pencil (2nd generation) is not the pairing path for this mini — do not assume a drawer Pencil 2 will attach.
Is Paperlike ready for the new mini?
Paperlike has announced a Paperlike 3 size for the new iPad mini and notes that the previous mini protector will not fit because dimensions and camera placement changed. Confirm the exact SKU on paperlike.com before ordering.
Should I put a matte film on nano-texture glass?

Do I need a keyboard?
Only if you type long-form on the mini. Apple’s launch accessories focus on Smart Folio and Pencils; third-party Bluetooth keyboards that worked with prior minis generally still connect, but folio keyboards must match this chassis. Most mini owners skip a dedicated keyboard.
